Gender Inequality: Flaw or Law?

      GENDER INEQUALITY: Flaw or Law?

A notion really poked me today, as my teacher pointed out something in class. Writing a script or screen play demands not only creative writing, but careful construction as well. Always “respect the various methods of communication”. So too must we respect each other, whether male or female.

I was in a public bathroom last week and while waiting for the next vacant toilet, I overheard a young lady complaining about the balance of responsibilities between her & her brother. To be more specific, she said that her brother has less chores at home and even though he was younger, has the privilege of staying out late as much as he likes.

Now I’m not a feminist, but I believe in equality and no longer are we trapped by the mentality that a woman’s place should always hang behind the title of a house wife or house mistress. A new era has evolved, but sadly some persons are still trapped in the past.

Again, ladies and gentlemen we can all debate the various causatives, but I’m going to offer one solution! Extinguish the flames of gender inequality. It’s simple: If parents want their sons to grasp independence, while mirroring respect for women, lessons should start within the house. Likewise, if parents want their daughters to clutch tightly the idea of independence and respect for men, training should begin at home.

However, it has become clear that the world can play hardball at times, so it wont be easy. But, if one should look back after this, it may be well worth it to hear others say: “There goes a well-rounded young man/lady, or there goes my child’s favourite role-model!

1 Corinthians 11:8-9, 11-12 also speaks to gender equality.
