Tips: First Date

FIRST DATE

First dates and first impressions are really….long-lasting. What do you consider to be a good date? One lesson learnt from my Writing for Electronic Media class is that visuals are important. So you don’t want to just sound the part, but also look the part as well.

Remember, proper deportment is always vital. One should also take the time out to observe the personality of the other. This may help you to carefully select the right venue for your first date. However, choosing the right venue may never be easy, so critical research is just as important.

WHERE TO GO?
I asked a couple of friends "what they thought would be the perfect location for a first date?" These were the top 5 responses:
  • Movie theatre
  • Classy restaurant/ Pub
  • Picnic in the park
  • Concert
  • Popular attraction/Sight seeing

Some persons may testify that their first dates started off quite terrible. Sweaty palms while holding hands, late pick up, spilt juice on their favorite outfits (not intentional), sore pain from a nasty fall and so many others. But at the end of it, their dates turned out really great. Perhaps, one might have also experienced their first kiss.

In my opinion, nerves are good; it's quite common. But whatever happens, never forget to have fun and just be who you are. Then, simply allow love, your heart and God handle the rest.

  1. You know, I think the perfect location for a first date is anywhere we can talk. When I was younger I would have thought that a concert or the cinema were good choices but now that I am older (lol) I know that at that stage in the relationship we're still getting to know each other so I quieter spot where we can Talk is way more important.
I'm looking forward to your post on the first kiss; I know that should be interesting!

  2. I totally agree with you. Quiet is sometimes better; less distractions during conversation...FIRST KISS...ooh...definitely!
